2015 Yarn Crawl
The Passports are here!
We will be kicking off our Crawl Thursday night September 24th, at 6pm with a "wine & cheese" event hosted by  Sven and Laura, owners of North Light Fibers.  Please join us for a fun evening and learn
How to Make Yarn & An Overview of Fiber
Have you ever handled raw cashmere, yak, bison or bamboo? How about Tussah silk vs. Mulberry silk? Learn about different fibers and how they are blended to make beautiful knitting yarns. North Light Fibers will demonstrate how handcrafted minimally processed yarn is produced through a virtual tour of the North Light Fibers' Micro Yarn Mill located on Block Island, RI. Hands on demonstrations and you will learn why steaming and guard hairs are very important to great yarn. And then you will see why we are carrying this beautiful, locally made yarn in our store!
